Backup and disaster recovery
Backup and recovery means a copy you can restore — not a folder you hope is current. We automate, encrypt, and test restores. We will not call an untested backup a plan.
The work
Automated. Secure. Simple.
Automated
Scheduled backups — no relying on someone to remember.
Secure
Encryption in transit and at rest. Stored on different technology in a different place. Geographic redundancy.
Simple
Granular restore of files, folders, or systems. Monitoring and failure alerts.
RTO and RPO in English
How much work, how long dark
RPO — recovery point objective — is how much work you can afford to redo. RTO — recovery time objective — is how long the office can sit dark. We set both on purpose. A file share and a line-of-business server do not get the same answer.
Microsoft 365 and Google are not backed up because they are “in the cloud”
Recycle bins expire. Ransomware encrypts what syncs. Mailboxes and shared drives need their own copy, on a clock, with a restore you have watched work.
Tests
A backup that has never been restored is a rumor
Restores get exercised. You see the date of the last good one.
When hardware fails
Backup internet, generators where they matter, offsite documentation, more than one recovery path. New Jersey weather and a cut fiber are not theoretical.
